6th Annual National Night Out.

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007
For the 6th year the Overland Park Coalition Against Drug Crime
hosted the National Night Out. National Night Out is a way to meet
your neighbors and government agencies who have worked to fight crime in our
neighborhood. |
The Coalition was proud to present an
appreciation award to the Clackamas County Sheriff's
Department. Accepting the award is Sheriff Roberts.
We also presented an award to Andrea Hall
of Code Enforcement. She has been working with our community for several
years and has played a large part in making our community a much better place to
live.
Clackamas County Animal Control attended
showing off two Therapy Dogs that they trained.
Some early attendees enjoying the
evening. The line at the food tent is already forming.
Members of the PAWS (Pups At Work for
Sight) Guide Dog Puppy Raising club were there to do some training and to enjoy
the evening.
Deputy McClurg manning the Sheriff's
Department display.
Target is a national sponsor of National
Night Out and they were a big help with our event.
Parks was a huge help in making this years
event a great success. Special thanks to Clee Ann Hart (right) for all her
help.
Giggles the Clown was a big draw (pun
intended) as usual. Here she is just getting started on a face painting.
Clackamas Search and Rescue was there
displaying some of their vehicles.
Clackamas County Fire brought their smoke
house. They instructed kids (and adults) on how to escape a house on
fire. And then they use fake smoke to give participants the opportunity to
try out what they learned.
The Oregon National Guard stopped by with
one of their armored vehicles.
To end the evening, CC Fire extended the
ladder on one of there ladder trucks. And then two firemen climbed the
ladder. Very impressive.
